Ok, so the sun might not be shining today - far from it in fact - but according to our weather app, the rains will clear and the sun will be making a much anticipated reappearance by Thursday - just in time for our delivery of bright and sunny sunflowers, calendula and achillea, which will be our focal flowers for this week's Flower Friday.
We've always had a thing for sunflowers - their bold and beautiful faces bring joy to everyone. Ju also has a thing for all things homeopathic and healing, and calendula (or marigold as it's commonly known) is used for its antibacterial and healing properties. If you grow calendula in your garden, you'll know that bees and insects love it and you can also harvest the flowers for making calendula-infused oils, waters and salves. A quick google search will show you how to dry the petals which can then be left infusing in oil for a month or so before you use it on your skin or in a salad dressing* - sometimes the simple things are best things.
