Hydrangea Highs - and the Flower Friday low down...

Bonjour

Who's still enjoying this gorgeous hot spell? What a lovely bank holiday weekend - we took time out to do basically very little except enjoy the sunshine and chill out at home.

But we're back to business this week at The Barn - with the end of our sale where there are still some great bargains to be had if you have time to pop in.

Sale aside, we have lots of new stock arriving all the time including beautiful faux flowers, vases and our brilliant cross back aprons in lots of new linens and colours.

Flower Friday

See below some questions regarding Flower Friday that we are often asked - we thought we'd give you the full low-down on what we do and why we do it like this!

FLOWER FRIDAY FAQs

What exactly is Flower Friday?

Well, we create bunches of stunning fresh flowers, once week on a Friday - simple!

Why only Friday?

We do flowers on a Friday because we buy all our flowers in for pre-ordered bunches. We carry very little excess stock thereby reducing waste. We are a modern florist with a modern view on floristry and floral design so you won't find buckets and buckets of flowers at The Barn waiting to be sold - we buy what we need and that's it.

Our flowers arrive from our Dutch suppliers on a Thursday morning - allowing us time to get them beautifully conditioned and arranged, ready for collection or delivery on a Friday.

Fridays are a great day to have flowers - just in time to be enjoyed over the weekend.

So can I have flowers on a Thursday if you get them on a Thursday morning?

In short - yes! We can have flowers ready for you on a Thursday afternoon - although we don't offer delivery on this day. Equally, you can collect on a Saturday morning if you're busy on a Friday - the flowers will stay fresh and cool in our Flower Room until then. But if we called it Flower Thursday, Friday & Saturday it just wouldn't sound so good!

Can I get flowers if I haven't pre-ordered them?

Sometimes! Now that we have a home in The Barn, we do always order a few extra stems that we can prepare on a Friday or Saturday once all our orders have been allocated. But if you know you want flowers, we suggest you pre-order them as we only buy a few extras and they do tend to get snapped up really quickly.

So what flowers will I actually get? Can I choose what I have?

If you pre-order early enough (by Tuesday or Wednesday), we can often accommodate specific flower or colour orders, providing the flowers are in season, as we will buy accordingly. However, we pride ourselves on creating beautiful bunches of seasonal blooms in our Mon Amie signature style that is loose, natural and a little bit wild.

We have been creating Flower Friday bunches for almost five years now and our customers come back again and again because they love our flower selection and style that's always a bit different from anything they'll find elsewhere.

What will I get for my money?

Our bunches start at £20 and we simply put together this value of stems to create a stunning bunch depending on what we have selected for that week. Obviously the more you spend, the more flowers you will have.

How are the flowers wrapped?

We wrap our flowers in brown paper and tie them with string. It's contemporary and beautiful. What's more it's environmentally sound as we don't use cellophane. We don't do old-fashioned bubbles of water or anything too time-consuming to create - this simply means that all your money is spent on beautiful blooms rather than fancy packaging. We think you'll agree that it all makes sense.

Do you add card messages for gifts?

Yes - we add lovely brown parcel tags with any message you want to send if you are gifting them to others.

Can I have my flowers delivered?

Yes. We can deliver anywhere around Kibworth and our surrounding villages - stretching to Market Harborough, Stoneygate, The Langtons and Billesdon.

Deliveries to Kibworth/Smeeton/Saddington - £3.95

Deliveries elsewhere within our delivery radius - £5.95

Simply select your delivery charge within the dropdown menu on our website, or email us if you're not sure.

Alternatively you can collect your flowers from The Barn at no additional cost.

What happens if the recipient if out when you deliver?

We will always attempt to leave flowers in a safe place and we will leave a card through the letterbox to tell the recipient were they are. If you know that you or your recipient will be out, let us know where it's best to leave them - and if you can leave a bucket of water, we will leave the flowers stems free of paper so that they can be left hydrating until they can be taken in.

How do I order?

You can order via our website or you can email us with any requests.

Do you offer subscriptions?

Yes! We can also supply flowers regularly as a subscription - either weekly or fortnightly according to your needs - please contact us for further information.
